August Bank Holiday Drinks: Celebrate the Last of Summer with Solaris Sangria

The August Bank Holiday is the perfect excuse to gather friends, fire up the barbecue and make the most of the last long days of summer.

Whether you're planning a garden get-together, a relaxed lunch or simply hoping for enough sunshine to sit outside with a glass in hand, we've got a refreshing summer serve to add to the occasion.

Our Solaris, Blackcurrant & Elderflower Sangria puts an English twist on the Spanish classic, combining our crisp Herefordshire-grown Solaris with British Cassis, elderflower and fresh summer fruit.

The Perfect August Bank Holiday Drink

Sangria is made for sharing, making it a brilliant choice for Bank Holiday entertaining. Prepare a jug, add plenty of ice and let everyone help themselves.

At the heart of our recipe is Radlow Hundred Solaris, our vibrant, dry English white wine with delicate floral aromas.

The freshness of Solaris works beautifully with elderflower cordial, while White Heron British Cassis adds a rich blackcurrant flavour. Finished with raspberries, nectarine, citrus, mint and sparkling water, the result is a refreshing drink that's perfect for seeing out the summer in style.

An English Twist on a Summer Classic

Our award-winning Radlow Hundred vineyard sits within the rolling Herefordshire countryside, on land that has been farmed by our family for seven generations.

Today, we produce small-batch English still wines from grapes grown in our vineyard, including Solaris, Rondo and Rosé.

With its fresh character and delicate floral aromas, Solaris is delicious served chilled on its own, but it also makes a fantastic base for this English take on a classic summer sangria.

Make Solaris Part of Your Bank Holiday

Whether you're hosting friends, planning a barbecue or simply enjoying a quiet glass in the garden, our Solaris Sangria is an easy way to bring something a little different to the Bank Holiday table.

Made with Solaris grown here in the Herefordshire countryside, it's fresh, fruity and made for sharing.
