Twist Your Mulled Wine with Rosé

At Radlow Hundred English Wine, we love how traditional styles of wine are transcending expected times of seasonal enjoyment. Over the summer, chilled red wine became even more popular than the year before, as wine lovers wanted to enjoy a flavourful glass of red in the sunshine.
Of course, in the winter, thoughts turn to red wine and indeed, mulled wine, for a winter warmer with a festive feel. This year, though, we’ve spotted a growing trend for mulled rosé wine. In the last month on Google search, it’s become a breakout term, with consumer interest increasingly growing. Mainstream supermarkets are jumping on the opportunity, releasing ready-to-mull rosé wines, but it’s easy enough to follow a delicious mulled wine recipe at home to make a blend perfectly suited to your palate.
When it comes to choosing a rosé wine for mulling, look for juicy varieties that aren’t overly dry and have a nice amber glow. Grapes, such as Grenache, work well and pair easily with mulling spices. Or you could try using our Radlow Hundred Rosé 2023. A juicy and fruity blend of Rondo and Solaris grapes, alluring summer berry aromas burst through with hints of green tea. With a medium dry finish and good acidity, our Rosé will hold up well to the mulling spices. We’ve shared a simple recipe to try at home and share with friends as the festive season gets into full swing:
